Piano, Drums, Percussion (marimba, vibes, orchestral perc, etc), Ukulele, Music theory, Composition, Arranging, Engineering, Finale notation, other odds and ends
This is essentially the same thing as Arranging, but in this case Transcribing is what you want to select if you have a piece of music that you want to be written (or lifted), as it is in its original form. Arranging implies that I have liberty to add harmonies here or there, or adjust rhythms/back beats/etc. Transcribing basically means, you want a literal reflection of a song/tune on paper, with no influence from me.
Examples include but not limited to:
A person who has a melody in their head + words, but wants to find someone who can write it out on paper as a lead sheet with chords; Someone who can play piano and write melodies and words but not in music notation (piano/vocal only); Or someone who wants a collection of hymns parted out for small brass choir; etc.
Same as Basic Transcribing but ready for publication submission, if needed. But other examples include: Transcribing a Beethoven sonata for 7 piece accordion choir; Reductions from large ensembles to small ensembles or piano; Lifting straight from a recording with no written music score/chords/etc to begin with; and others of this nature.
Included but not limited to: Writing out lead sheets, background tracks/vocals, harmonizing horn sections, etc. In short, it means getting a piece of music to "read-ready" status for any player. Since the task varies so much from chart to chart, the categories below are more of an approximation with respect to "level of difficulty." Prices may need to be negotiated further depending on the difficulty.
Your basic lead sheet (chords/vocal/basic piano accomp), small ensembles like horn sections, duo/trio vocal groups, guitar duets, etc
The same as Basic Arranging package but essentially, "Ready for publication if needed" (as far as detailed formatting of Finale/Sibelius parts).
Other possibilities are:
Large group arrangements like Big Band Swing charts; or out-of-the-ordinary complex signatures and post-tonal harmonies, etc; Unorthodox instrumentation; and the like
Prices of course will vary due to several circumstances, but a rough ball-park is available below
Dinner party entertainment, special productions for local community, office retreats, comedy clubs, etc
Putting together a set of music (1-2 hrs), pretty close to a custom made show of your own. *+ expense and travel
This is a good option for the client that is looking for a custom background track to a song of their own, or a rendition they want to make. Or for one who wants to make any piece of music but needs a custom-made, one-man band at their fingertips. That's kind of what I do, all around.
Background vocal tracks; small scale projects with a vocal + instrument or 2, basic sound engineering, mixing, mastering, etc.
Highly detailed background tracks; high demanding detail in mixing/mastering; etc
I've done many lectures / masterclasses over the years on many different topics and many different instruments. My topics generally range from: Philosophy of music, the fascinating world of Frequency, instrument performance technique, mental musical discipline, etc
Academic settings, masterclass where the equipment is provided, adjudicating, etc
This could be a whole new ball game. Contact me to negotiate.
